A native of Marietta, Georgia, Ms. Roberts graduated from
the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Music Education
in December 2007. She student taught in the Fall of 2007
with David Vandewalker at Harrison High School in Kennesaw,
a Sudler Flag Program, and Mary Wilson at Lanier Middle
School in Buford, Georgia.
While at UGA, Ms. Roberts participated in the Wind Ensemble,
Wind Symphony, Georgia Brass, Tuba/Euphonium Ensemble, and
was a four year member of the Redcoat Marching Band. In the
Redcoat Band, she served as the euphonium section leader for
two years and one year as band captain. In addition, she
spent the summer of 2004 marching Euphonium with Spirit Drum
and Bugle Corps. Also at UGA, Ms. Roberts served as the Vice
President of Service, Music Chair, Northeast Georgia
Marching Exhibition Chair, and Alumni Secretary for Kappa
Kappa Psi, National Honorary Band Service Fraternity. She
had the privilege to study euphonium under Mr. David Zerkel
and Adam Frey. As a euphonium student of Mr. David Zerkel,
Ms. Roberts performed with the UGA Tuba and Euphonium
Ensemble at the Pershing's Own Army Band Conference held in
Washington D.C. Ms. Roberts teaches various middle school
and high school clinics and band camps across the state of
Georgia.
Ms. Roberts is a recipient of the Phi Beta Mu Outstanding
Instrumental Music Education Award, UGA Hugh Hodgson School
of Music Director's Award, and Georgia Music Educator's
Association's Collegiate Educator Scholarship Winner. Her
professional affiliations include Kappa Kappa Psi National
Honorary Band Fraternity, Sigma Alpha Iota International
Music Fraternity for Women, PAGE, and MENC. Ms. Roberts
would also like to thank her teachers and mentors that led
her to enter the field of music education: Mr. Robin Wofford,
Mr. Jeff Harper, and Mr. David Starnes.
