2012 Marching Tiger Band Information:

The Stockbridge High School Band Program has a long history of musical excellence including numerous Grand Champion Marching Band wins, and numerous Superior rated Concert Band, Symphonic Band, and Wind Symphony performances. Performances include appearances across the state of Georgia and southeastern United States including the University of Georgia's JanFest and the Georgia Music Educators Association's annual In-Service Conference.

Marching Season 2012 is just around the corner. The show design process has begun and can be viewed by the beginning of June on the band website.

This coming season is going to be another exciting season filled with success, memory making, and lots of FUN! The Marching Tiger Band has seen tremendous success over the last three years and you do not want to miss out on a great opportunity. The band has earned many first place awards and has plans on winning more this coming fall.

Research shows that when music is included in a student’s daily learning, their reading, writing and math scores improve. Studies have proved there is a high correlation between a healthy self-esteem, total interest in school activities, and the study of music. College admissions officers give special consideration to students who are a part of their high school music programs. The longer an individual studies music, the higher his/her scores tend to be on both the verbal and math portions of the SAT exam. Not only can music have an enriching effect on your child academically, but leadership skills, responsibility, and self-discipline skills are strengthened in them on a daily basis. A big part of being in high school is developing those skills in order to be success as a young adult later in life. There is no other program on the campus of Stockbridge High School (athletic included) that will offer your child a more well-rounded education other than the BAND OF STOCKBRIDGE HIGH.

Please also notice the policies associated with band camp and the band fee for there are a few changes beginning with the 2012-2013 season.
